And another excellent crime movie from Mexico: This one is a "serious" one and will give you the creeps. Great work again from the director of "El crimen del Padre Amaro", Carlos Carrera.

When a cannibal midget and an ex-luchador comes together for the the sake of bad taste, you know you're watching our kind of movie. The "WTF?" kind. Alejandro Lozano obviously has watched QT movies and felt that the door was now open to an all-out, multi-levels, inside-joke, dark humor kind of crime-comedy that doesn't let you go and creates surprises at every scenes. You don't have to be Mexican to enjoy this wonderful little gem but it helps a bit to have a general knowledge of Mexican society and culture to really appreciate the irony of some situations. Definitively a fan of Mexican cinema, serious or fucked up, I enjoyed myself tremendously watching this. If you can, watch it in Spanish, it's genuinely funnier.

Plot from Imdb."Eulalio Gonzales (aka Piporro) is a cowboy that tells many lies to impress others at the local bar. Two beautiful Venusians are send to the space to obtain the best males to be the fathers of new off-springs because Venus males are dying.  The males of other planets (in this case monsters like a cyclops, a spider and a blood sucking guy with a huge exposed brain) got unleash because one of the Venusians is really a vampire and sees the opportunity to conquer earth with their help. Piporro, his nephew and the other kinky Venusian will try to stop the evil monsters."

Eulalio Gonzalez aka "Piporro" was a singing cowboy, in a "northern country style". He was quite popular at the time but something tells me that if one would see that movie without knowing anything  about him, one would think that Piporro is just a gay cowboy, singing alone for his horse, while a plastic spaceship is landing in the Mexican countryside, unloading a bunch of Venusian female invaders, horny for human semen, and their "worst of film history" half-frozen monsters. Plus there is a huge cardboard robot that is really friendly, maybe because there is a Mexican extra inside, sweating like a pig, poor chap ! Yep, that the basic story. And there is a vampire in the Venusian female horde and Piporro best friend is a little boy. Unsettling, isn't it ?
Well for a 60's Mexican singing cowboy sci-fi movie, it's fair game. In fact, it's great to watch this now and to wonder how on Earth anyone would have put together such an incredible insanity !

More Mexican nuns in heat !
Another nunsploitation gem that really will rock your world ! It puts back to back Satanism and Christianism. As the movie progress, the parallelism between the satanistic rituals and the catholic exorcism grows stronger. Even if the movie at the beginning feels like a cheap  "Hammer studio movie", you'll be knocked out in not time by the incredible force of Moctezuma imageries and visual madness. Location of the "church-convent" is highly original: it's located in a cave, that looks more like a Gothic crypt, lightened by candles...Have no idea if it’s real but it's effective. Nothing is sacred in this movie that feels more like something done by Luis Bunuel on acid then a Mexican nunsploitation flick. "Satanico Pandemonium" is dull, compared to the insanity of Alucarda's scenes of satanic possession and rituals (lesbian orgy in blood !). Another movie that pop's in mind immediately is "Ken Russel's "The Devils", as the surreal actions of the protagonists leads us into a world of madness. Of course, this movie carries a violent anti-religious message that needs no explanation.
