The Untold Story - Danny Lee/Herman Yau - HK - (1993)

a.k.a "Bat sin fan dim ji yan yuk cha siu bau"

Plot from Imdb: "In 1978 in Hong Kong, a grisly murder takes place. Eight years later, on a Macao beach, kids discover the severed hands of a fresh victim. A squadron of coarse, happy-go-lucky cops investigate, and suspicion falls on Wong Chi Hang, the new owner of Eight Immortals Restaurant, which serves delicious pork bao. The hands belong to the missing mother of the restaurant's former owner; he and his family have disappeared; staff at the restaurant continue to go missing; and, Wong can't produce a signed bill of sale: but there's no evidence. The police arrest Wong and try to torture him into a confession. Can they make him talk? And what was in those pork bao?"

Ladies & Gents, this is another masterpiece from the most outrageous duo from HK: Herman Yau and Anthony Wong. They will be responsible a few years later of the movie that made me love Cat III forever: "Ebola Syndrome". Must I add that Anthony Wong is my favorite Chinese actor of all-time ?
That said, let's see. For starters, you'll have: Gruesome murders, pork chop buns made with human flesh. The main course will be a all family slaughtered in front of each others (including lots of kids) and for desert, some  police and prison torture... Now that's what I call a interesting "Menu".
There is simply no word to describe this flick, it's everything we love about Cat III: offensive, sick, twisted, horribly funny, disgusting, cheap, out of this world and perfectly appealing to our sick side. Did I mention that I have the Thai version of  "The Untold Story" poster in my office ?  And I prove it with a picture, see last pic (thanks a million to Alex, my partner in crime). Advise of the day: see it, while eating some dodgy Chinese food. It'll add a nice tasty touch to your viewing experience. Bon appétit !
